As of June 1, 2020 The Atelier has reopened for part-time classes. We are resuming using the next 8 weeks as make-up classes for the time missed since March.
We are social distancing and wearing masks so class sizes are limited with fewer classes being offered. If you are planning to attend be aware you must agree to wear a mask, wash your hands, and disinfect areas you touch like the easels. Also, it goes without saying, if you don't feel well or are sick, stay home.
New students can join classes that are not full. Class size is limited to 10 students. After this week, teachers should be able to tell if they have room in their class and how many spaces are available.
Basic Classes are $140.00 for 8 weeks (which is $17.50 per class, the same as last year's prices).
Figure and Portrait Classes are $160.00 for 8 weeks (which is $20.00 per class, same as last year).
We will prorate if you are starting a week late.
For BASIC CLASSES: We are running Monday night, Tuesday afternoon, Wednesday morning, Wednesday night, Thursday night, Friday morning, and Saturday morning. Same instructors as the Winter Schedule for the times.
For LIFE DRAWING CLASSES: We are running Wednesday afternoon, Wednesday evening (start date June 3), Thursday afternoon (start date June 11) and Sunday afternoon (start date June 7).
For PORTRAIT CLASSES: We are running Tuesday night and Thursday night. Start dates June 2 and 4.
For DESIGNING AN INTERIOR PAINTING WITH A FIGURE: FRIDAY at 4:15, same instructor as Winter, Andy Sjodin.
We're getting creative at The Atelier. Usually at this time of year we would be enjoying each other's company during the Full-Time Student Show. As a special treat we have created a little video tour featuring part of The Atelier's permanent collection, something most student show attendees don't get to see because we take everything down to hang the student work. The Atelier is part of Art-A-Whirl and a member of NEMAA so you can view this video through NEMAA's Art-A-Whirl website. We're hopeful that we will hold our student show this Fall.
Be well, friends.
