The World Goes Round
Oil on canvas, 19 x 15 inches
by Sawyer Wall

Sawyer Wall is a classical realist painter committed to the long tradition of atelier training and rigorous craftsmanship. He is currently in his fifth year of intensive study at The Atelier in Minneapolis, where he works daily from life, completes structured projects, and studies master painters.

Sawyer approaches teaching as a diagnostic craft: identifying the root causes of a student's struggles, prescribing solutions suited to each student's temperament, and helping them develop the discipline required to carry those solutions through. He believes classical art is both a technical lineage and a mental discipline—mastery comes from learning to see clearly, think sequentially, and work intentionally.

His work has been exhibited in studio and group contexts and has earned him two scholarships from the Art Renewal Center and one from the Portrait Society of America. He is dedicated to helping students build a strong technical foundation capable of supporting serious, long-term artistic growth.
