Michael Chelich

Michael Chelich is an artist inspired by the great masters of the Renaissance and Baroque periods of art. His creative style has been refined through years of intensive study and practice in classical methods of drawing and painting. Mike's artwork reveals an interest in a variety of subject matter including portraiture, narrative figurative art, still life, wildlife, landscape, and pet portraits. Most recently, he has engaged his talents towards illustrating children's books. Mike studied with Richard Lack, Stephen Gjertson, and Dale Redpath while pursuing his studies at Atelier Lack in the mid-1980s. He has distinguished himself with numerous portrait commissions of political, educational, law, and business figures in Indiana and the Chicagoland area. Examples include the official portraits of former Indiana Governors Evan Bayh and Frank O'Bannon as well as U.S. Senator Richard Lugar.
