Susan Steging Cook, BA, Art History, University of Wisconsin, is a recent graduate of The Atelier Studio Program of Fine Art. Although she has taught privately through the years it was not until studying at The Atelier that she found her own artistic voice in Still Life, Trompe L'oeil, Portrait and the Figure. Susan takes commissions in the form of posthumous portraits based on treasured objects. She also enjoys what she calls "beyond portraiture" developing "story" through the language of painting. Through the essentials of draftsmanship, anatomy of form, perception, and various painting techniques, Susan is committed to articulating a thoroughly contemporary paradigm of beauty as a Contemporary Realist artist.
