- Creating Original Art Using Photo Reference
- This class is for those interested in working with pastel or oil to create an original piece of
art using reference images, i.e. photograph, of a person, animal, or setting. Building and
creating values and color through cross hatching and similar techniques will be emphasized
with pastel. Accuracy in measurement, value, drawing, color temperature and edges will be
emphasized as the photograph is brought to life through your choice of pastel or oil paint.
Photo references need to be good quality. Portrait images need to be enlarged to give you the
best opportunity to see with an artist's eye the unique character of your subject. It is important
to work with the best possible reference material. Materials list will
be supplied upon registration. There will be a demonstration during
the first class.
